Rodrigo Galvan
Mixer
Rodrigo remembers feeling a passion for sound and music very early in life. Born and raised in Mexico City, Rodrigo's first job out of college took him to Paris where he worked as a telecommunications engineer for multinational corporation Schlumberger and officially became fluent in three languages. (or 2 ? more than his biographer, who is still mastering English). Then Rodrigo made the life-changing decision to move back across the pond to NYC to become an audio engineer. The words 'you have to do what you like' never seemed more appropriate.
Rodrigo started his audio career with an internship that quickly turned into a staff mixer position at Mac Sound Music (at that time housed inside New York City's Wild Child Editorial). He joined the hsr family in 2009.
Rodrigo has worked with some of the top Hispanic market agencies such as The Vidal Partnership, Bravo and Global Works, and on projects for Heineken, Home Depot and Sunoco (just to name a few). He's also had the chance to work as a freelancer, mixing and doing sound design for two independent feature films (one of which, Modern Love is Automatic, premiered in the 2009 SXSW Film Festival), as well as 2 jazz albums and all of his own electronic music productions.
When he's not busy in studios 9 & 14 at hsr, Rodrigo likes to spend much of his free time spinning and producing Drum and Bass music. The rest is spent with his lovely wife. You can catch him spinning every now and then at one of NYC's underground Drum and Bass parties.
